Today and timetable

Know what’s next.

Today shows the lesson you are in, what is due in it and what comes after, with a quiet countdown to the bell. Your whole week is a tap away.

  • On the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, the minutes to the next bell during the school day.
  • Changes included: substitutions, room changes and cancelled lessons when your timetable refreshes.
  • Alternating weeks, groups and school events in the same calendar.
  • Exam days with a countdown, and a reminder an hour before.

Homework

Make a plan. Get it done.

See what needs doing and where to start, with the instructions, files and deadline beside each task.

  • Grouped by when it is due: this week, next week and later, with tests marked.
  • Reminders the evening before a deadline, and before tests.
  • New work stands out until you have opened it.
  • Hand in from Bell at Bell schools: text, a photo or a file, with drafts saved as you write.
  • Your own done mark, kept apart from the school’s hand-in status.

Grades

Know where to focus.

See how you are doing in each subject, on the scale your school uses, and decide where to put your effort next.

  • Every mark on its own scale: one to six with weights, one to nine, or percentages.
  • Honest averages that follow your school’s rule; where a subject mixes scales, Bell says so.
  • Set a goal and see what your next marks need to reach it.
  • Insights on trends and your strongest and weakest subjects.

Tutor

A tutor that teaches, not just answers.

When your school enables the tutor, ask by typing or out loud, and get help that fits your lessons and homework.

  • It knows your school day: your homework, your tests and the topics you find hardest.
  • Hints first when you want to work it out yourself, or full worked answers when you need them.
  • Who to ask: it names the right person at school and drafts the email.

THE TUTOR

More ways to learn.

Everything here works inside the chat, from the tutor box.

Languages

Practise a language.

Role-play conversations with gentle corrections, grammar drills, fill in the gaps, a pronunciation check and vocabulary with audio, built from your own homework topics.

Planning

Plan my week.

A study plan around your tests, grade goals and weakest topics, which you can change and keep.

Revision

Flashcards that remember.

Quizzes and flashcards from any topic. Each card comes back just before you would forget it, with a “cards due” widget and reviews on Apple Watch.

Voice

Ask out loud, listen back.

Dictate questions, and have answers read aloud in the voice you chose in Settings, Siri voices included.

Visuals

See it, don’t just read it.

Tables, interactive diagrams such as the Solar System and food webs, animated scenes, short explainer videos and editable presentations.

Research

Answers with sources.

When a question needs up-to-date facts, the tutor searches the web and shows where each fact came from.

YOURS, PRIVATELY

Built to respect you.

No ads

Nothing to buy, nothing sold.

Bell has no adverts and asks for no payment details. Your school pays for its licence.

Your school decides

AI on your school’s terms.

Your school chooses whether the tutor is on, and which kind. Bell never holds an AI key of its own.

Questions from students

Do I have to pay for Bell?

No. Your school pays for one licence that includes students, teachers and families. There are no adverts and no payment details.

My school isn’t on Bell yet. Can I still use it?

Bell reaches schools through a pilot, so your school needs to join. If your school uses ASIMS, the Bell Companion can already show your timetable, homework and grades. Otherwise, show this page to a teacher or the school office.

Will the tutor just do my homework?

It is built to help you learn. Turn on Hints first and it guides you with hints and questions before giving the answer. Your school decides whether the tutor is available at all.

Which devices does Bell run on?

iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch from the App Store, Mac through TestFlight, and Android 7 or newer and Windows 10 and 11 as direct downloads. Families and teachers use the browser.
